Home Birth

People choose to give birth at home for many meaningful reasons. For some, being in the comfort of their own space allows them to fully relax, connect with their intuition, and move through labor in an unhurried, mindful way. At home, many find it easier to settle into the deep vulnerability and strength that birth requires—surrounded by familiar sights, sounds, and loved ones.

Home birth offers the freedom to move, rest, eat, and be supported on your terms, with family or friends present if you choose. It’s a beautiful option for those who wish to welcome their baby in a calm, private, and sacred environment.

Our team ensures that when your baby arrives, your space is left clean, peaceful, and ready for the next chapter of your journey together.

Your Safety Is Our Priority

When you choose a home birth with The Knox Birth Center, you’ll be cared for by licensed, experienced midwives who bring both skill and heart to your birth experience. Your midwife arrives fully equipped with the tools and training to support a normal labor and to respond swiftly if unexpected needs arise.

We bring with us:

  • Oxygen and resuscitation equipment for both parent and baby
  • IV fluids and medications to manage postpartum bleeding if necessary
  • A full set of sterile instruments and delivery supplies
  • A handheld Doppler to monitor your baby’s heartbeat throughout labor
  • Suturing supplies for perineal repair, if needed
  • An emergency management plan, including coordination with local hospitals in case of transfer
  • All supplies for immediate newborn care and examination, including Vitamin K and Eye ointment
  • A birth pool for those choosing the option of a water birth

Limited Availability for Personalized Care
